Calvin After Hours
(NEW YORK) While many have been burning the midnight oil all week, even the weariest souls made their way to 15 Little West 12th Street to toast Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli following their acclaimed women’s and men’s runway shows for Calvin Klein Collection. Friends including Naomi Watts, Kate Bosworth, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Phillippe, AnnaLynne McCord and Isabel Lucas stepped out to congratulate the designers. “You look so relaxed and calm!” one guest told Costa, as he smiled graciously. “That can’t be right!” she laughed.
“ I am so excited because the show went very well!" an elated Zucchelli explained. "I usually show in Milan, but I am very excited to show in New York. When I do, it changes my schedule around, but other than that it’s fantastic. I have my famous friends coming to the show! It’s a bit more glamorous, and I can crash in my own bed when I leave here.” A smartly-suited Phillippe, fresh from visiting family in Philadelphia, confessed he’s still adjusting to the fashion world. “The men’s show was a cool experience for me," he said. "I’d never been to a fashion show before!” Can we expect a repeat performance? “I don't know, but it was very interesting.”
Watts also admitted that she was feeling a bit out of sorts. “I absolutely loved the white coat from the collection and that cape coat, but I’m forgetting all of my fashion terms!” she laughed before revealing why she finds the brand so meaningful. “I have this special dress that I will never forget. It’s the one that I was wearing the night I met Liev [Schreiber], and it just happens to be Calvin Klein.” Watts indulged in a bowl of truffle pasta while a covetous Melissa George admitted she had her eye on it. “I’m a bit worn out. I’ve been living on trail mix! But they have my favorite type of pasta here tonight. They gave me one, but I’m about to go tackle somebody for another.” Luckily, it didn't come to blows and a waiter promptly arrived.
Kerry Washington rolled in with David Alan Grier, her onstage costar. “Working on stage does require a lot of energy, but it’s absolutely fantastic," she said. "And my character gets to wear all these fabulous clothes!” Washington coyly drew her hand across her mouth to indicate her lips are zipped. “You have to come out see the show to get a glimpse of all eye candy, though!”
“I’m a terrible shopper," said Bosworth. "I love the white coat, and seeing the inspiring collection makes me wish I was better at shopping.” Skarsgard followed close behind, and remained in very high spirits. “I had a ton of meetings all day, but tonight is a far cry from that," he said. "I’ve got a glass of champagne in my hand and I’m feeling good!" The actor ditched his vampire garb for a sharp suit, looking fabulous in the process. “I love this!” he effused of his Zucchelli-designed ensemble. “But you’ve got to make sure it’s the right fit. There’s nothing worse then walking around and looking like you’re about to pick up your prom date.”
